It's metal, shiny, and domed -- pretty much everything you want in a lid and more! The problem is that it doesn't fit what it's supposed to fit. Before you assume that I'm simply making a mistake, I'm basing this on advice that All-Clad itself gave me. So we have an All-Clad chef's pan that was missing a lid. Doing some Internet searching, I came across the "All-Clad Lids & Covers Guide" on the MetroKitchen website, which indicates this lid fits the "All-Clad 4 qt. chef's pans, including Copper-Core." I measured the pan, and it's 12 inches across. Well, this lid description says 12.5 inches, but I figure with the lip around the edge of the lid, it was going to be a match.
